The kick-off meeting of the project had been held in Turkey at GDAR-ORI (Izmir) and DUZEN (Burhaniye) the 21st and 22nd October 2022. The meeting included a visit of the olive plantations and laboratory facilities of the GDAR_ORI Institute in Izmir, along with the familial olive mill factory of Laleli in Burhaniye in collaboration with the DÜZEN company. During the discussions, the planning of the project roadmap and of the first experimentations have been defined.
Following a presentation of the various young researchers involved in the program, a presentation of each institute and its main activities have been made. Specific focus has been made on interactions between partners and staff exchanges during the project, as well as the planning of project dissemination activities. Additionally, Emin Acikkalp, Onder Altuntas (Eskisehir Technical University, ESTU, Turkey), Giorgos Markou (ELGO-ITAP, Greece) and Fatma Arous (University of Tunis El Manar, Tunisia) have joined the online discussions as invited experts, discussing possible scientific collaborations and additional exchanges during the project.
